Jensen Update for Nov. 8, 2021
Hola Mio Hijo!
Before I forget…what is the scripture you want on your missionary plaque? Dad said you haven't sent him the new one yet. Also, do you have a picture preference? (I included an option for a pic)
Like Dad, I feel like the week has gone by fast!! I know when I wrote to your sisters on their missions, I always felt like "what did I do this week?!" It felt busy, but I never remembered rt off what we did! lol! Maybe this week I'm a little more guilty of not "doing much" because when looking back at any pics I took, which isn't much, more than half were screenshots or pics of Lego sets. Lol!! Zerrick & I did put together some winter Lego "sets" this week. I got some little partial snow/elf sets that inspired me to build my own lego winter village house. For my first attempt, I don't think I did too bad! I did start with online Lego instructions from a set I don't have and attempted to just sub in Lego pieces that we had loose. It worked for a bit, but soon Zerrick said "just make it your own way Mom!" (something like that) and so I ended up with a fun little cabin! We had fun with "building snowmen" too! Lol! (I've included some pics - i.e. "Elvis" snowman & "Sensei Wu" snowman. Lol!)
My spiritual thought this week comes from a few dif. sources. I did read in Alma 29:1 "Oh that I were an angel..." I've always loved that scripture because Alma the younger, Ammon & his brothers KNEW what power an Angel could have in helping people change their lives! Also, in Sunday School lesson there was a quote that compared Christ's saving atonement to us doing temple work and how we're helping to save lives, "eternal lives"! Another Angel reference is in the Come follow me for this week, D&C 129. It talks about the definition of an Angel & how to distinguish between an Angel from God or Satan. All interesting things that all came together this week! I feel light Missionaries are "Angels" in a way! They help bring saving ordinances to people on earth. I can get a sense of what Alma means when he says "Oh, that I were an angel" because on my mission there were many times when we taught people that I WISHED I could just put ALL my knowledge & experience into that person's head that we were teaching and help them see the POWER of the Priesthood and the RIGHT-NESS of the Gospel!! it just makes sense in the WHOLE BIG PICTURE!! BUT I can't do that! Everyone has to learn the knowledge for themselves & everyone learns line upon line and has their own experiences with life & the teachings of the gospel which will help them gain their testimony ultimately. Sometimes it's easy for us as "missionaries" to get over zealous & impatient with the "learning timeline" of others and I think that's how Alma was feeling! Lol!
I hope everyone has a great week and I hope Elder Jensen (& all of us really) goes "forth and speak(s) with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance (the restored gospel) unto every people!"
Love you ALL!
<3 Con Amor, Madre
