Jensen Update for Nov. 29th, 2021

Hola Mio Elder Hijo!

This week has been a busy whirlwind!! We've had a fun time visiting family in UT, but as you know, we've had a sad time too hearing of Grandpa Hunsaker's passing! We know he's in a better place right now, but it's sad we can't go see him in person and interact with his whitty & stubborn personality!! :) Lol!
All joking aside, he was a great man and he'll be greatly missed!! It's always fun to hear Grandpa tell stories of things he did as a youth or that Randy or Sherri did as teenagers back in the day! Good memories!!

Dad told you a few things we did when we were up in Utah. I'll try to send some pics of those things…
We went hiking to Grotto Falls, axe throwing, played Bunco with the Oar family (Devin was down in Ivins with Gma B), had a good Thanksgiving feast, put a puzzle together, built Lego sets for my village, hot tubbed and we looked at Christmas lights too. I didn't take pics of everything, but we took some.

Of course we also played lots of other card/board games which prompted many "discussions" about the "rules" (that is the Jensen way with games of course! Rt?! Lol!!) We learned quickly that we need to establish "house rules" before each game…Definitely!! We gave Heston an early Bday present (Happy Bday tomorrow Nov. 30th to Heston, Kristine & Tyler too) …we gave Heston the game "Villainous" and Aubri also gave him "Skull King"…So those were played several times this visit. Heston made up 3 new cards for Skull King and we played with those too. Meaning…they took half of Dad's deck & half of Heston's deck (dif. backs) + all the 6 new made up cards and played a game with all those cards in it. Lol! You can imagine why there were "rule discussions" rt?!! It was good times though!! (Heston will have to send you his made up card rules just to understand the fun! Lol!)

Well, thinking of a spiritual thought now…I'm not sure what to say except that I'm THANKFUL for the gospel! ….the whole big picture and plan of life & salvation!! I just can't imagine what our "life" would be like living in this world without the knowledge of the restored gospel and all of what that entails! I think there's a lot of peace, comfort and understanding in the gospel!! Yes, we have trials, hard times and get down on ourselves at times, BUT the gospel really does pick us up, helps to lift us up and give us hope & light in this crazy, dark world!! This reminds me of our primary program last week and the song the kids learned which is "My Own Sacred Grove" Song by Angie Killian. It's a cute song! The primary theme this whole year was "how I hear Him." The gospel definitely helps us "hear Him" in this crazy time of history that we live in and in the worldly happenings around us. We need to learn to tune out the distractions around us and "hear Him" so we will be ready to "receive Him" at his second coming, which could be soon… It's definitely closer that it's EVER been!! ;)

Also, It was neat to listen to cousin Isabelle's "farewell talk" while we were driving home yesterday! Technology is pretty cool now days! (when it's not confusing & frustrating!! Lol!!) It is amazing that we can call, zoom, email people across the whole world if we wanted to. And from our cars too! But all that is crazy & mind boggling too sometimes!! Hermana Routson will do a great job as a missionary! She did a good job speaking & sharing her testimony of why she wants to be a missionary. She'll do just fine!! She got set apart as a missionary last night and starts her home MTC today. She's going to the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission. But I think she goes to the Mexico City MTC for some of her training? but I can't find where Shandi said her "MTC" schedule. Oh, Hum! Anyhow, exciting times!!!

I better sign off!! I love you all!! I'm very proud and GRATEFUL for ALL of you too! Thanks for being such great kids/husband & great people in general!!

<3 Con amor!
Madre
