Mexicali and Milagros (That means miracles jaja)

¡Holaaaaaa mi gente amadora!

The past little bit has been pretty crazy! I apologize that I didn't get an email off before I left for Mexico, so I hope none of you were too worried for me jaja, but I made it to Tijuana and have been serving in the city of Mexicali for the past week! I've been having TONS of amazing experiences, so I want to just highlight those experiences so that my email isn't amazingly long jaja.

On Tuesday, I met the other Elder that I'll be serving with for the next 11 weeks as a companionship! He's super super cool, and his name's Elder Suarez. Just a few hours after meeting each other, we had the opportunity to talk with an hermano on the phone and teach him about prayer. His name is Luis, and he really really wants to change his life, and it's truly inspiring. Elder Suarez invited him to prepare to be baptized in a couple weeks, and he accepted! We've taught him a few more times and were able to meet him this Saturday, and he is so so cool. I'm really excited to continue helping him learn about the gospel of Jesuschrist and help him find the change he wants in his life.

Another experience I had this week was when we were having lunch on Thursday with a member of the church and her sobrina (niece) who isn't a member but is interested in the gospel. After lunch, we talked with the hermana, Ana, and her sobrina, Dina, and Ana shared experiences from her life and from her sister's and mother's life that have strengthened her testimony of the gospel. The spirit was really really strong when she was speaking, and even though I couldn't understand most of what she said, the spirit witnessed the truth of what she was saying.

I think the final experience I'll share will be something that happened yesterday. You'll remember the hermano I was talking about earlier, Luis. His parents are Catholic, and we supposed that might be a problem for his desire to be baptized in a different church. He asked his mother yesterday if he could be baptized, and she said no. Elder Suarez and I then said a prayer that Luis' parents' hearts would be softened and that he would be able to get baptized since that truly is something he desires. Luis also told us he said a prayer, which is absolutely amazing, and then he said he asked both his parents after doing so. About 10 or 15 minutes later, Luis excitedly told us that his parents agreed that he could be baptized! I truly testify that the Lord works miracles and that when we desire to do the right things, God will always prepare one or more ways for us to choose to do them.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and I love hearing from each of you! I will try answering the emails I can, but I might not get to everyone's jaja.

Love and miss each of you!
Élder Kyle Jensen
