Jensen update for May 15, 2022 & Zoom at 4pm…

Hola Familia!

This week has been a busy, but fun week too. We got home from Kaitlyn's wedding & Mother's Day on Monday, recovered a little bit with washing several batches of clothes & cleaning up the house, we had YWs on Wednesday, had a wet & rainy fathers & sons outing Friday and then on Saturday a Math competition for Zerrick at OSU & Prom for Jenelle at Reiser Stadium. Now…there was a lot of in between things that happened this week, but I either don't remember them or I choose to forget them. Haha! Jk (well kind of not)😉 As far as I am concerned, I was involved with cleaning up the house & getting Jenelle & her date outfitted for Prom. The rest of the activities will have to be more elaborated by those involved!

I didn't need to "fix" a prom dress this time, but I did sew a tie for Andrew Madsen, Jenelle's date. throughout the week, I Hmmm & Haaaah'd about it a lot and then finally on Friday I finished it and got it looking good! (it only took 2 attempts). I also made the corsage & boutonnière for them as well. Which isn't hard to make & is really quite fun for me to do! But I do have a funny story to tell about the corsages, but it's at Zerrick's expense. 😉 We'll have to explain it on Zoom. But given Zerrick's understanding of the situation, one can see his question or confusion! Lol! 😉
The other thing, besides cleaning up the house (meaning having the kids put it all in the bonus room. Lol!), I helped make the ice cream that the kids were going to come back to our house and have after the dance. I've been trying out a couple "machines" or "ice cream makers" that we got off Amazon and I'm not sure what we've concluded. But the HIT ice cream of the night (Cookies & Cream) that I made was done with 4 ingredients (including the cookies) & with a regular mixer & a spatula (& then frozen for several hrs). So I didn't even use either of the 2 ice cream makers. Go figure!! Lol! 😊 Well, this week was eventful and we have another one coming up with an Art Show for Jenelle & a Youth Temple Trip on Friday. Good times!!

I better get this finished and sent off before it's too late in the day, but I did plan to write about what the speakers talked about in church on Sunday, so I'll briefly say that they talked about "daily repentance." There was good info. shared and experiences shared also that showed how important it is to "daily repent" and how that is part of God's plan. God doesn't expect us to be perfect, ever, but if we are striving to do what is right every day, doing our best, then that is all God is expecting of us. Christ's Grace makes up the difference! Also, in a Sunday class we talked about communication and how vital it is to allow for communication between each other...listening & being heard is important from a child to an adult, in a companionship, in a marriage, amongst co-workers. The key element was, don't shut people down when they're talking and don't assume things right away or try to fix things right away. Listen and let the person talk first. Show love and compassion next. Then try to address the problem. Good advice and hopefully we can implement it into our lives in whatever way is needed.

I Love you ALL!  & I hope you all had a good week & continue to have a great week this week!
❤ Con Amor,
Madre
