Re: Weekly Email - 10/25/21

Hola Hola! It sounds like you've had an exciting week! I hope Jenelle's okay! A hyperextended knee sounds pretty serious, so I hope she's taking it easy. It's kind of crazy that the season is already ending! I feel like it was just a couple weeks ago that it was starting, but that was actually just about 2 months ago! Unfortunately, I don't think that sister ever showed up. I'm not sure why jaja, but yeah. We only were waiting to see if she would come for like 30 minutes and then we left for the mission home, so it wasn't too bad jaja. I am really grateful I have a companion who knows English though jaja! It's been super helpful in getting to learn the language I feel, but also probably been holding me back just a little. I really love that theme. I definitely feel like that was a major theme of conference too, of just having small goals and taking the small, everyday steps to draw closer to Christ. I'll send more of an update of my week in my email ...

Re: Weekly Email - 10/25/21

Maybe closer to 1 or 2pm (Oregon time) I could zoom? Idk about Dad though. He's in a mtg rt now. I'll try to go ask him. And I need to go get chicken in for Jenelle's team dinner for tonight. I was trying to finish an email to Kyle and all of you, but I better run and get this chicken in!! I'm thinking this afternoon I can zoom, but I do need to run to Costco too before the dinner at 4:45pm. Ugh! Busy uh?!  I think we can definitely plan something for next Monday to have a great number of us on zoom!! Love you all!! 💕  On Mon, Oct 25, 2021 at 10:07 AM Zachary Jensen < zachary.jensen@missionary.org > wrote: We kind of need to be at the church to access wifi, but we get to the church around 9 normally, and last pday we were here until 6, but yeah, some of that time we were eating and playing basketball and volleyball. We kind of need to be at the church to access wifi, but we get to the church around 9 normally, and last pday we were here until 6, but yeah, some of that time we were eating and playing basketball and volleyball. If we set up a time to do a zoom though, I can absolutely plan my day to include that and that would work perfectly fine. I recognize Mondays before 6 is not exactly conducive to anyone's schedule jaja, but that's also all I'm allowed to do, so yeah😅 Is there a time that works for anyone today? If so, I'd love to see you guys! I love you and I'm gonna start writing some emails now! On Mon, Oct 25, 2021 at 9:59 AM Brenda Jensen < brenda.b.jensen@gmail.com > wrote: Hola Elder Hijo! Hola Elder Hijo! I was just trying to write an email to you, but I'm going to write this quick note to everyone…How does the email, hangout, internet situation look for you on your Pdays, Kyle?…do you have access all day to the internet or do you need to go to the church to email, zoom, etc. and only have a window of time? It will be hard to catch very many of us during the day to zoom because most everyone is at school or work during the day. So the zoom may not happen too much, but maybe we can set a time next Monday or so where everyone zooms on their phones at a lunch break or something like that. Jenelle & Zerrick can meet each other at school lunch (11am)and zoom from JJ's phone or chromebook. And everyone else can tune in too maybe? Idk for sure, but let us know how accessible to internet, etc you'd be during your Pdays. We know you need to do shopping & laundry etc. so you're not available all day I'm sure, rt? 💕 We love you lots! & we're gl...

Re: Weekly Email - 10/25/21

Hey everyone! Elder Salsa here. I'm really really sorry. I'm not sure how, but I did not mean to say anything about sundays in my email. I can only talk to family and friends, anyone outside of my mission, on pdays. My pday starts at 8am and ends at 6pm on Mondays, so basically anytime in there I can chat, email, hangout, or zoom with you guys, but yeah, not on Sundays I'm sorry. Weekly Email - 10/25/21

Hola Elder Salsa, First things first – if we are able to actually talk with you, we need to know when and how.  We had hoped to get in touch Sunday since you indicated you had permission to do that then, but we didn't have a plan in place.  So, can you tell us when you'll be available (if you will be) for next Sunday?  We would all love to see your face and talk with you if we can.  Let us know when and how and we'll make it happen! It was great to hear that you are serving with a companion in Mexicali – way better than stranded at the airport in Tijuana all week. (Did that Sister you were waiting for ever show up?)  I am also glad your companion speaks English – I can't imagine how lost I would be if I were unable to communicate with my comp.  I think Heston said today he had several native companions, and they couldn't speak any English.  Immersion is a great way to learn a language, but I can imagine it would be very difficult in the beginnin...

Mexicali and Milagros (That means miracles jaja)

¡Holaaaaaa mi gente amadora! The past little bit has been pretty crazy! I apologize that I didn't get an email off before I left for Mexico, so I hope none of you were too worried for me jaja, but I made it to Tijuana and have been serving in the city of Mexicali for the past week! I've been having TONS of amazing experiences, so I want to just highlight those experiences so that my email isn't amazingly long jaja. On Tuesday, I met the other Elder that I'll be serving with for the next 11 weeks as a companionship! He's super super cool, and his name's Elder Suarez. Just a few hours after meeting each other, we had the opportunity to talk with an hermano on the phone and teach him about prayer. His name is Luis, and he really really wants to change his life, and it's truly inspiring. Elder Suarez invited him to prepare to be baptized in a couple weeks, and he accepted! We've taught him a few more times and were able to meet him this Saturday, and he is s...

Jensen Family Updates...Oct. 17, 2021

Hola Mi Hijo, Wow! We're starting letters to a Missionary again! Very exciting and daunting at the same time! I don't enjoy "writing" so I'm not sure if I'll be 100% great at it, but I am excited to hear the experiences that you'll have, Elder Jensen, while you're out on your mission! I'll try to keep you a little updated on the happenings here and there at home and send family pics or fun info. at times, but I'll always have questions for you to! Haja! (my Spanglish laugh!) Here's my list of Questions so far... :) Did you get all your luggage back with you after all those flights? Who met you at the Airport?  What's the name of your Mission President & Wife again? What did you do that first night? (go right to your companion and apartment? or stay in the mission home? Who/what were you waiting for when you called me from the airport?)  What's your phone status? What are your rules on email, Zoom, calls, etc? Who is your compani...

Weekly Email - 10/18/21

Hola Elder Salsa- Well, it has been a week of wonderment.  We took you to Eugene a week ago today at O Dark Thirty and haven't really heard from you since.  Mom appreciated the quick call Monday evening to let us know you made it safely to Tijuana, but we've been at a loss for where you are, whom you're with, etc.  In a way, your sisters set us up for an unrealistic expectation.  We got a pic of them and their mission president almost as soon as they arrived in their mission and I guess we expected the same from you.  No worries, but we are curious to see, hear from you and understand what is going on.  So, do let us know. Jenelle was sick almost as soon as we dropped you off in Eugene.  I think it is a combination of lack of sleep, too much soccer activity, and being exposed to cousins who have different germs than us.  She missed a few days of school and even went in to take her PSAT not fully healthy, ready or enthused to take it.  They have had lots o...
